I recently read a book, Bringing Up Bebe, that explored different aspects of raising children, and how the French style of parenting contrasts with American parenting. I highly recommend it to all my mother friends as an intriguing read. In it, I learned that French children become very involved in the cooking process quite early. In fact, there is even a recipe for a yogurt cake for small children to make. The 6 ounce yogurt containers are the measuring tool for most of the ingredients. So, I let Claire do it, and she loved it!
Here we are adding the sugar.
Claire chose to have chocolate chips in her cake. Good girl.
Mouthful of chips and flour on the forehead.
Ready to go in the oven! It turned out very good, too!
I am soooo not French.
