Rocky Mountain Pumpkin Patch

It's that time again! We headed to the Rocky Mountain Pumpkin Patch for pumpkin choosing, pumpkin butter, photos, and of course, creepy pig cars.

Holy crap! Who is this girl who looks like she's 8 years old? An the other one looks 2? What is going on here?

2013 Fall Photo Shoot

This year because of the flooding, we were quite limited to where we could venture off to for our annual fall photo shoot. There are so many beautiful places in Colorado, though, and we traveled to Golden Gate Canyon State Park. As usual, our timing wasn't exactly perfect, but the results were!

Vivian's First Year

Here's a retrospective of Vivian's monthly photo shoot.

Monarch Lake

On day 2 of our camping trip, we took a little hike to Monarch Lake. We only made it about a mile one side and back, but that was 2 miles of Claire walking! Woohoo!

On the way, we saw this "Steam Donkey". The lovely lady ranger told us that people used to use this to help haul trees down the mountain to the lake. After a while though, they decided that since all they were doing was creating rock slides, they would figure out a different way, and abandoned this piece of equipment.

On our way back, we took a break and had our picnic lunch while admiring the lake.

Vivian did great on our camping trip. She seemed to love all the exploring and getting dirty.

Camping at Lake Granby

In early June, we traveled to Lake Granby for our first camping trip since Vivian was born. We were on the East side of the lake, at Arapahoe Bay, and our camping spot was a beauty.

Right next to our tent was a waterfall coming down off the mountain, creating a creek that ran to the lake.

We enjoyed sitting around the campfire and eating smores on both nights.

And oh, the sunsets. The magical sunsets.
